[Citizenship – Extradition]
(2) No German may be extradited to a foreign country. The law may provide otherwise for extraditions to a member state of the European Union or to an international court, provided that the rule of law is observed.

(1) The Federation may, by a law, transfer sovereign powers to international organisations.

§ 1 Scope of Application
(relating to Article 1, Article 17, Article 86, and Article 34 of the Rome Statute)

The International Criminal Court supplements German criminal law jurisdiction.
Based upon this law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (“Rome Statute”) of 17. July 1998 (Federal Law Gazette 2000 II p. 1393) the Federal Republic of Germany shall work together with the International Criminal Court.
